2020 marks the beginning of the decade of Action on the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) and Agenda 2030
AWA Initiative believes young people are drivers for the realization of these goals. The overall success of the SDGs depends on youth engagement because young people have the capacity to identify and challenge existing power structures and barriers to change and to expose contradictions and biases. Young people also have the power to act and mobilise others.
Our programs and projects have contributed immeasurably to the actualization of the sustainable development goals and raising a generation of adolescents and young people who are informed and have skills to become change-makers and agent of sustainable development in their community.
We use a comprehensive approach that connects different SDGs in our work for holistic accountability. Our work contributes to the actualization of SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13 and 17.
